Research Scientist- Child Psychology Internship (Part time)

Cladoop's building the world's first multi-modal Emotional Quotient Measurement system - EMOTENCE, using state of the art Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and medical grade Wearables. They need some assistance with the non-technical aspects.

They have recently roped in two leading child and emotional psychologists in the US - Nancy Eisenberg and Richard Fabes to be a part of their elite advisory group and are now looking to hire a Research Assistant for a short term (12 weeks) who would work directly with these scientists.

Their requirements and brief below:

Our product is about showing Stimuli or videos to young children (around the age group of 5-7) and capture their facial expressions, emotions, head activity, Electrodermal activity and other vital signs

We're planning to do this for three diverse groups - normal and healthy children, children who are on the autism spectrum and children who are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

The incumbent would be responsible for the following

1. Stimuli Research.

• Now there is some science around what to show to a child and what content could evoke the right responses. The first step of the incumbent would be to identify this content (which could be found in some off the shelf Pixar movies) or anywhere else. There is a lot of literature that's available on stimuli. The deliverable is to accumulate say about 3-4 videos that could evoke a certain emotion. Ex: A baby dino playing around in a bush could evoke a 'joy' expression whereas a scene where a dog dies could evoke a 'sad' emotion and so forth

2. A bit of evangelisation 

• We've got a few schools that we identified and took a bit of the discussion forward during our last study, however, we'd need to have some persuasive discussions with schools/special schools/ autism centres to be a part of this study. This work would include figuring our the contacts, setting up a meet and persuading them!

3. Deployment

• Once we have the schools/centres identified, the next immediate step is to deploy/pilot the solution and oversee the entire deployment as a one person army! Deployment would also include being physically present at the school/centre to and handle the entire process of making a child sit and view content and making sure that certain technical, as well as logical guidelines, are followed.

4. Analysis & Publication

• This is the meatiest, and for this and point no 1, there is a close interaction with our advisors. The results would include complex hypothesis and some exposure to statistics, journal writing and report writing. We'd eventually be publishing the paper as a journal or a study in conjunction with Arizona State University.
