Aren\u2019t we supposed to be slogging it out 24*7 in first couple of years just to keep the ball rolling? Somehow, even before I started it, I have been thinking about Internshala to have a character like Tata\u2019s and a culture like Google\u2019s. In-fact the commandments below were the first things that went into <em>founders\u2019 agreement<\/em> between Ankur and I. These are the guiding and founding principles of Internshala and I hope that in years to come whenever we face difficult choices, or are lost; these would serve as a guiding torch not only for the founders but for everyone who would ever work at Internshala.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><strong>1. Have Fun @ What You Do<\/strong> :\u2013 There is a reason this is number 1. Do only what you truly enjoy and have your heart\u2019s buy in. Anything else which sounds like chores, will get done like chores!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. Do The Right Thing<\/strong> :\u2013 Deep down you always know what is the right thing to do \u2013 and there is only one right thing. If still faced with Dilemma, toss a coin!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3. Take Your Chances<\/strong> :\u2013 One life! Live it for yourself \u2013 and not for neighbors and someone else. No matter what \u2013 you would never sleep hungry and will regret one less when you are old.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4. Stay Curious<\/strong> :\u2013 Never stop asking \u201c<em>why?<\/em>\u201d &amp; \u201c<em>why not?<\/em>\u201d Innovation is 1% creativity and 99% curiosity!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5. Keep it Simple<\/strong> :\u2013 As simple as that. Life, as it is, is complicated enough \u2013 please don\u2019t add!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6. People are Good<\/strong> :\u2013 Design to make it easy for 99% who are genuine and not to make it difficult for 1% who is not!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7. Count not $ Profit but Number of Happy Customers<\/strong> :\u2013 they are concurrent and not exclusive!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>8. Laser Focus on Big Picture<\/strong> :\u2013 Learn to Say <strong>NO<\/strong>. Do one thing that really matters <em>exceptionally<\/em> well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>9. Get Dirty with Details<\/strong> :\u2013 A great vision is nothing but daily tasks list summed up over years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>10. People First, Profits Next<\/strong> :\u2013 when you started, you only had people; profits <em>did<\/em> come next!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I really hope that we stay true to these principles in time to come.
