Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is now accepting applications for Visiting Students’ Research Program (VSRP) 2013. The program is open to pre-final year undergraduate students and 1st year M.Sc \/ Masters students. Exceptionally bright B.Sc. students from Maths stream will also be considered. The last date to apply is 13th January, 2013<\/strong> – hurry!<\/p>\n

About TIFR: – <\/strong>The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (http:\/\/www.tifr.res.in\/~vsrp\/index.html) was conceived and founded by the distinguished Indian Scientist Dr. Homi Bhabha in June 1945 with the active support of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Government of Bombay Presidency.\u00a0At TIFR, research is carried out in frontline areas of all the fundamental sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics, as well as in the field of Science Education.<\/p>\n

About VSRP: – <\/strong>TIFR conducts summer programmes in which talented students are given an exposure to research activities in areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics (Astronomy & Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics & Material Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics and Theoretical Physics).<\/p>\n

# of Internships: – <\/strong>While there is no fixed number, TIFR accepts ~40 students every year for VSRP<\/p>\n

Who can apply: – <\/strong>The eligibility criterion for different branches are;
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Physics\/Chemistry<\/em>: Pre-final year students of M.Sc.\/B.E.\/B.Tech.<\/li>\n
  2. Biology<\/em>:Pre-final year students of M.Sc.\/B.E.\/B.Tech. Students doing M.Pharm., Medicine\/Engineering will be also be considered.<\/li>\n
  3. Computer & Systems Sciences<\/em>: Pre-final year students of B.E. \/ B.Tech. \/ M.Sc. \/ M.C.A. \/ M.E. \/ M.Tech.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Location: –<\/strong>TIFR Mumbai, and National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) Pune, India<\/p>\n

    Duration: –<\/strong>May 13th – July 5th, 2013<\/p>\n

    Stipend: – <\/strong>INR 7,000 \/ month + to and\u00a0 from sleeper class rail way fare + shared hostel accommodation<\/p>\n
