\"max<\/a>There are 2 interesting internship opportunities for Computer Science students to spend the summers in Germany while interning with prestigious Max Planck Institutes (part of Max Planck Society). Both of these are all expense paid internships and going by the list of previous selected candidates, looks like Indian students stand a fairly good chance!\u00a0 <\/p>\n

1. Internship with Max Planck Institute of Informatics: – <\/strong>This internship is with Databases and Information Systems group of the institute. To be considered for an internship, you have to have completed at least 3 years of an undergraduate program in Computer Science or related areas (at the start date of the proposed internship). Priority will be given to outstanding candidates willing to stay for extended internships (6 or more months).<\/p>\n

This internship is located in Saarbruecken in Germany and the selected students are paid a stipend of 715 Euros per month (sufficient to cover the living cost) +\u00a0 travel expenses to and from Saarbruecken.\u00a0 The last date to apply is January 31st, 2013<\/strong> – hurry! 2. Internship with Max Planck Institute for Software Systems: – <\/strong>This internship provides an opportunity for exceptionally well-qualified undergraduate and graduate students to take part in research projects at the MPI for Software Systems. Interns are expected to tackle new and challenging research problems in close collaboration with graduate students and faculty at the institute.<\/p>\n

Candidates are selected based on their academic achievements (e.g., honors, course grades, prior project experience) as well as their interest and motivation in pursuing original research in different areas of software systems.<\/p>\n

Selected applicants receive monthly stipends during their stay. They are provided free housing by the institute, and are reimbursed for their travel expenses to the institute. Internships typically last for 12 to 14 weeks during the summer.
