Teach For India has selected Fellows who have demonstrated excellence in the past and will cultivate these Fellows to become extraordinary leaders within the classroom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><strong>About Teach For India: &#8211; <\/strong>Teach For India is a nationwide movement that aims to bridge the educational gap in India by placing promising college graduates and young professionals in low-income government &amp; private schools to teach full-time for two years. The\u00a0organization&#8217;s mission is to build a movement of leaders who will eliminate inequity in education and meet the vision that \u2018One day all children will receive an excellent education.\u201d<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About the Fellowship program:- <\/strong>The Teach For India Fellowship is probably the most challenging and transformational experience of a Fellow&#8217;s life. As teachers in classrooms, Fellows have multiple opportunities to confront and tackle challenges, motivate diverse stakeholders to work hard toward a shared vision, create and adjust plans to move further towards their goals and gain the confidence they need to succeed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0Who can apply: &#8211;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Young and experienced professionals, between 21-35 years, and students in their final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, are encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate degree\n<ul>\n<li>You must have completed all coursework required for your undergraduate degree (Bachelor&#8217;s degree equivalent) from an accredited college or university by last week of May 2012. You also must have received a secondary school diploma in order to be considered for admission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Academic Record\n<ul>\n<li>Both your graduate (and post-graduate transcripts if you are a post-graduate student) will be reviewed with scrutiny before an admission decision can be taken. Applicants must also pass any coursework indicated in their transcripts as in progress at the time of the interview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Indian national\/foreign national status\n<ul>\n<li>Teach For India accepts applications from: 1) Indian citizens and 2) foreign nationals of Indian origin. Foreign citizens who are not of Indian origin are not eligible to apply. Please refer to the\u00a0<a title=\"Teach For India Fellowship FAQs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teachforindia.org\/aa_faqs.php\" target=\"_blank\">Admissions &amp; Applications FAQ section<\/a>\u00a0for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Commitment and Location\n<ul>\n<li>All applicants must be willing to make a full-time commitment to teaching and living in one of our placement cities (Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad) starting June 2012 to be part of the Teach For India Fellowship. Fellows of the program will be full-time staff members of the schools in which they are placed and will work stipulated school hours, six days a week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>English Fluency\n<ul>\n<li>You must be fluent in English to be part of the Teach For India Fellowship, as we will be placing our Fellows in English-medium schools and will conduct all our training in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Teach For India is looking for applicants who will be leaders in the classroom and beyond. We recognize that leaders come in many forms with varied past experiences, so there is no one profile of an ideal applicant.
