A really<\/em> unique, one of a kind, niche summer internship program where students tackle issues related to the core of Berkman\u2019s research agenda, including law, technology, innovation, and knowledge; the relationship between Internet and civic activity. Yes, this internship is at Harvard. Yes, students from anywhere in the world regardless of their education stream and level (UG\/PG\/Ph.D) may apply. Yes, there is a stipend attached. Yes, only the best among the best make it to this program. Yes, you want to apply! The last date is February 10th, 2013 – <\/strong>rush!<\/p>\n

About Berkman Centre for Internt & Society<\/strong>: – The Berkman Center (http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/about<\/a>) was founded to explore cyberspace, share in its study, and help pioneer its development. We represent a network of faculty, students, fellows, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and virtual architects working to identify and engage with the challenges and opportunities of cyberspace.<\/p>\n

It investigates the real and possible boundaries in cyberspace between open and closed systems of code, of commerce, of governance, and of education, and the relationship of law to each. They do this through active rather than passive research, believing that the best way to understand cyberspace is to actually build out into it.<\/p>\n

About Internship: – <\/strong>The word “awesome” has been thrown around to describe this internship (check here<\/strong> <\/a>what a previous intern had to say). Summer interns jump head first into the swirl of the Berkman universe, where they are deeply and substantively involved in the operation of Center’s research projects and efforts. Becoming invaluable contributors to the Center\u2019s operation and success, interns conduct collaborative and independent research under the guidance of Berkman staff, fellows, and faculty.<\/p>\n

Specific roles, tasks, and experiences vary depending on Center needs and interns’ skills; a select list of expected opportunities for Summer 2012\u00a0 can be viewed here<\/strong><\/a>. Traditionally, the workload of each intern is primarily based under one project or suite of projects, with encouragement and flexibility to get involved in additional projects all across the Center.<\/p>\n
