Do\/Does\/Did in questions:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo make a question in <em>simple present tense<\/em>, we put the auxiliary verb <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">do<\/span> or <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">does<\/span> at the beginning of the question or before the subject. We use <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">do<\/span> when the subject is<strong> I, you, we<\/strong> or <strong>they<\/strong>. We use <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">does<\/span> when the subject is <strong>he, she<\/strong> or <strong>it<\/strong>.<br \/>\nExamples:<br \/>\nHow do you know him?<br \/>\nDoes she work at Amazon?<br \/>\nDo they hire a fresher for that profile?<br \/>\nDoes he speak Tamil?<\/p>\n<p>To make a question in <em>simple past tense<\/em>, we put the auxiliary verb <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">did<\/span> at the beginning of the question or before the subject. When we use <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">did<\/span>, the main verb always comes in its<strong> base form<\/strong>. Examples:<br \/>\nWhy did you say that?<br \/>\nDid the interviewer ask any technical questions?<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Has vs. Have:<\/strong><br \/>\nThey are both used to show possession and are required for constructing perfect tenses too.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Have<\/span> is used with pronouns like <strong>I, we, they, you<\/strong> and with <strong>plural nouns<\/strong>. Examples:<br \/>\nI have seen this movie before.<br \/>\nThey have a great understanding.<br \/>\nTeachers have a difficult job.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Has<\/span> is used with the <strong>third person singular<\/strong>. Examples:<br \/>\nShe has a great personality.<br \/>\nHe has done his graduation from VIT University.<br \/>\nIt has a hole near the door.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Since vs. For:<\/strong><br \/>\nThey are used when we want to talk about something that started in the past and continues into the present.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">For<\/span> is used when we measure the <strong>duration or amount of time<\/strong>. Apart from present and past perfect, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">For<\/span> can also be used with <em>present tense<\/em>. Examples:<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve been working at Internshala for 11 months.<br \/>\nShe has been smoking for a long time.<br \/>\nThey have known each other for years.<br \/>\nI exercise for two hours every day.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Since<\/span> is used when we want to signify the <strong>starting point<\/strong> of actions, events, or states. It refers to when things began. It can <strong>only<\/strong> be used with present and past perfect tenses. Examples:<br \/>\nIt has been two months since I last saw her.<br \/>\nShe had been working since 7&#8217;o clock.<br \/>\nThey have known each other since January 2015.<\/p>\n<p>We hope this was helpful and that, now, you have a better understanding of the various tenses.
