Central Statistic Office (CSO) of Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation (MOSPI) is inviting applications for summer 2012 internship program. About the internship<\/strong>:\u00a0 -The objectives of the internship program are following:\u00a0 –<\/p>\n

(a) To familiarize the interested and willing post-graduate\/research students with the Official Statistical System of the Country, with specific reference to data collection, processing & analysis, publication and dissemination needs.
\n(b) To create awareness amongst the students of Statistics\/Mathematical Statistics\/ Operational Research\/ Economics\/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics about the Indian Statistical Service and Subordinate Statistical Service.
\n(c) To sensitize the students of Statistics\/Mathematical Statistics\/ Operational Research\/ Economics\/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics about choosing their career in the field of Statistics.<\/p>\n

# of internship positions available: – <\/strong>210<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –<\/strong>The applicant should be pursuing his\/her post-graduation\/research from a recognized College\/University\/Research institute in Statistics\/ Mathematical Statistics\/ Operational Research\/ Economics\/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics<\/p>\n

Location: – <\/strong>Other than head office in Delhi, CSO has regional offices all over India (in almost all the state capitals) that an applicant can choose from<\/p>\n

Duration: – <\/strong>2 months (starting no later than 1st June 2012)<\/p>\n

Stipend: – <\/strong>INR 5,000\/- per month<\/p>\n
