Along with working for disability rights I also got to file RTI’s, follow up with them and consequently file petitions on it in High Court. I also got the opportunity to work on women’s related cases and visit the JJB for child matters. I also got the opportunity to attend various events like the TogetherVCAN's Social Sanchar, with Shri S.Kshatriya, Maharashtra's first ever Chief Commissioner under the newly instituted Right To Service Act at Royal Bombay Yacht Club on behalf of the organisation. During my internship tenure on almost every Friday , HRLN held various talks on issues related to Kashmir, Trible Talaq, Communalism, JJB etc giving everyone along with the interns an opportunity to learn something new and increase our existing knowledge. They say when you like your job time flies and so did my 6 weeks, Monday to Saturday 9:00am to 7:00pm flew.
Human Rights Law Network, Mumbai is THE place to intern if you want to really learn, its not the place where you just go to get a certificate. The long hours and disciplined environment might give you a fright but once you settle down you stop looking at the clock. God bless all the co-interns who made me smile on a rainy day and shared my workload on hectic days. The people at the office are extremely helpful right from the Head Mr Kranti LC to the support staff. HRLN teaches you beyond the shinning corporate life there lies a society which is in desperate need of help, the ignorant and poor. It teaches you to be compassionate towards the needy and most of all to give back to the society.
“When the going gets tough only the tough get going”, so don’t shy away from stepping out of your comfort zone because this world has so much to offer and for us so much to learn.
"}" data-sheets-userformat="{"2":513,"3":[null,0],"12":0}">“When the going gets tough, the tough get going”.
