UID (Unique Identification) project aims to issue unique identity numbers to residents of India. The project of this scale has not been executed anywhere in the world. Internship opportunities are available in area of technology, law, economics, policy, marketing, social science, public administration and management. And yes, if you really care, it is a paid internship.<\/p>\n

About UIDAI: –<\/strong> <\/strong>Unique identification project was initially conceived by the Planning Commission as an initiative that would provide identification for each resident across India and would be used primarily as the basis for efficient delivery of welfare services. It would also act as a tool for effective monitoring of various programs and schemes of the Government of India. Equivalent to US Social Security Number (SSN), UID, if implemented successfully, can have a huge positive impact on the way governance is delivered in India and can prove to be a very effective tool in uprooting the corruption from our public system and services.<\/p>\n

About Internship: –<\/strong> <\/strong>In order to execute the project the UIDAI will need to attract talent from technology, law, economics, policy, marketing, social science, public administration and management spheres. The UIDAI is of the view that an Internship Program will ensure interaction of the authority with young Indian scholars with brilliant academic background from reputed academic institutions in the country and abroad. Interactions with young scholars will provide fresh new ideas and research support from the field of academics.\u00a0 At the same time, the internship will provide an opportunity to young scholars to contribute to a project of national importance and provide an insight into working of the government.<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n

a) Students who have completed the 1st year in any 2 year Masters \/ Post Graduate program;<\/p>\n

b) Students who have completed the 4th year in any Integrated 5 year Masters program;<\/p>\n

c) Students who have completed a 2 year Masters \/ Post Graduate program, integrated 5 year Masters Program or a 4\/5 year Engineering program within last one year from the date he\/she applies for an internship, will also be eligible;<\/p>\n

d)\u00a0 Should have scored 80% or above in the school leaving examination (12th standard \/ +2 examination) and 70% or more cumulatively in the Masters program \/ Engineering degree (equivalent CGPA will be considered<\/p>\n

Location: –<\/strong> <\/strong>UIDAI is head quartered in Delhi but has regional offices in all major cities of India<\/p>\n

Duration: –<\/strong> <\/strong>a minimum of 2 months, the maximum duration of internship is flexible and depends on the time the intern is willing to spend with the Authority and the requirement of the Authority<\/p>\n

Stipend<\/strong>: – Rs. 10,000 \/ month. Certificates will be issued to the interns at the end of their internships on submission of their report\/paper<\/p>\n
