About Ekalavya: –<\/strong> A brain child of Prof. D. B. Phatak of IIT Bombay, Ekalavya aims to enable better educational order and facilities for Indian students by using Information and Communication Technologies to develop innovative channels of knowledge dissipation. The Ekalavya portal (http:\/\/ekalavya.it.iitb.ac.in\/ekalavyaHome.do) is an attempt to generate an interactive platform for the creation, absorption, dissemination and usage of knowledge for the well being of the individual and the society. It is a significant step forward to bring together students, teachers, and working professionals to meaningfully enhance the productivity of the group and spread knowledge.<\/p>\n

About Internship: –<\/strong> Ekalavya undertakes a significant amount of software and hardware development work in their Affordable Solutions Lab to support efforts in the National mission on education through ICT. A detailed list of all the exciting projects can be found here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All the work under the mission project is released under open source. Consequently most of the tools and software environment used in R&D are also from open source software. The student will thus be working on Ubuntu (a variant of linux), and using Java, MYSQL\/Postgress, GCC, and such other packages. Even if you do not have adequate exposure to these, you will get ample opportunity to learn them during your internship.<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –<\/strong> 3rd<\/sup> year (preferable) and 2nd<\/sup> year students of Computer Science, IT & Electronics engineering streams<\/p>\n

Location: –<\/strong> IIT Bombay, India<\/p>\n

Duration: –<\/strong>\u00a0 8 weeks<\/p>\n

Start date: –<\/strong> 9th May 2013 (for 8 weeks module)<\/p>\n

Stipend<\/strong>: –<\/strong> Rs. 8,000 for 8 weeks. There would be a certificate issued at the completion of the internship. The candidate would have to pay a sum of Rs. 6000 as internship fee plus for boarding and lodging expenses at IIT Bombay.
