Old Delhi is grandeur of the past whereas New Delhi has a more contemporary ambiance. The national capital has always been famous for its traditions, fine art and diverse civilizations. Apart from this, Delhi has become the most established city in terms of Industrialization, Management, Information Technology, Media, Law, Politics, Social Reforms, and several other career options. This might be the prime reason for the city being visited by interns from around the globe.<\/p>\n

Weather <\/strong>– The weather in Delhi is annoying during summer. If you can\u2019t tolerate heat, then opt for an AC stay. Sonal Sethiya who interned at Berkshire Insurance this summer says – \u201cSuntan lotion is a VERY healthy investment. If you’re in Gurgaon, buy eyewear; more to escape the dust wind than the sun.\u201d In winters the situation is completely opposite. One will need to pack up every single winter wear, because the temperature may fall down to as low as 2` C.<\/p>\n

Accommodation<\/strong> – Be in Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon; accommodation will be the slightest of an intern\u2019s worries. Paying Guest system is pretty prominent in all the three areas which are rented on a monthly basis. The rent can range from 5k-8k per person which includes AC and three meals. If you have contacts then it\u2019ll be a little easy else one will have to go through brokers.<\/p>\n

Places of interest <\/strong>– In Delhi one will never run out of places to visit. From historical monuments to luxurious pubs, Delhi has it all.<\/p>\n

  1. For cultural events and concerts, Qutub Minar<\/em> (Blue Frog Hotel) and Akshardham <\/em>is nice.<\/li>\n
  2. Hauz Khas Village<\/em> has many cafes and art museums. If you want to have a relaxing time with a cup of coffee then the fort overlooking the lake will be of great attraction.<\/li>\n
  3. Hard Rock Caf\u00e9, Deer Park<\/em>, the entire DU Campus<\/em>, and Lodhi Garden<\/em> are also some of the common hangouts.<\/li>\n
  4. Your shopping need will be completely taken care of at Connaught Place<\/em> (CP) and Nehru Place<\/em>. CP has a PVR and several cafes to loosen up from an exhausting day. \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. Ambience<\/em> Mall<\/em> in Gurgaon, Select City Walk<\/em> in Saket, and GIP<\/em> Mall<\/em> in Noida are a must go when in Delhi.<\/li>\n
  6. Being in Delhi you wouldn\u2019t want to miss out on the street mart \u2013 Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Dilli Haat, and Karol Bagh<\/em>. The first two are better. Lajpat is more of an Indian market with lots of variety and Sarojini\u2019s more for western and junk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Cuisines <\/strong>– For all the food lovers, Delhi is a visitor\u2019s haven. From finger-licking street food to delicious Pizzas, everything is appetizing. Siddharth who interned at Internshala proudly mentions that -\u201cDelhi had more than enough to satisfy my tongue and stomach.\u201d<\/p>\n

    1. Chandni Chowk <\/em>is a munchies paradise. Jalebis, Paranthas, Dahi Ballas, Aloo tikkis, Samosa, Panipuri, and Kulfis form a complete assortment of refreshments. \"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Mad over Donuts<\/em>, Coco Berry<\/em>, Wenger\u2019s, <\/em>and Chicago Pizza<\/em> (at Connaught Place) are a must checkout.<\/li>\n
    3. \u201cThe Paranthas at Murthal<\/em>, Soya Chaps of Wah Ji Wah<\/em>, and Amritsari Kulche in Paschim Vihar <\/em>are flocked by students almost every day because of affordable prices and great taste\u201d- says Gaurav Kejriwal who interned in Delhi last summer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Travel<\/strong> \u2013 Familiarize yourself with the Delhi metro. It is one of the best in the world. You\u2019ll feel it and fall in love with it. It is both cheap and comfortable. Auto rickshaws are more affordable in Delhi than those in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Although in Gurgaon, they are twice as expensive. Radio taxis and DTC buses are also available.<\/p>\n

      What to be prepared for in Delhi?<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. In Delhi people are obsessed with potatoes. One will find them in almost every meal with cabbage, cauliflower, carrots and all the vegetables there are to name.\u00a0 At one point, you will become saturated with too much Aloo<\/em> in your system.<\/li>\n
      2. Do Brush up your language skills before packing your bags. Not knowing proper Hindi can be quite fatal.<\/li>\n
      3. Beware of the city traffic and more of accidents.<\/li>\n
      4. The Delhi Police is very strict. So try carrying some identity proof on you at all times, just in case.<\/li>\n
      5. Know where you want to go in complete detail; else the Autowalas can make a fool of you very easily.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
