Organization interned with: \u2013 <\/strong>NDA<\/p>\n

It all started at 4 A.M.<\/p>\n

He was juggled from one room to another<\/p>\n

Like a ball<\/p>\n

Or like a bottle <\/p>\n

Though suited-booted<\/p>\n

With hands, legs and a face<\/p>\n

Each room, hunters waiting for him<\/p>\n

Eating, drinking, flaunting, competitive hunters<\/p>\n

Some calm and composed, while some aggressive<\/p>\n

Discussions- IPL, survival game, forest, ships<\/p>\n

No where related, but called process<\/p>\n

Selected ones went for interview rounds<\/p>\n

He gave interviews, some good ones and some bad<\/p>\n

While others were getting selected one by one<\/p>\n

There were people like him, not hunted by anyone<\/p>\n

And time passed by, but to no good: it was 8 PM now<\/p>\n

Finally he was killed and sold<\/p>\n

He was sold for Rs. 2860 per kg for two months<\/p>\n

Those two months were still five months away<\/p>\n

Yes, he was sold to an IT organization<\/p>\n

With a dream stipend he dreamt of<\/p>\n

It was the best movie of his life<\/p>\n

In the fourteen hours of selection, he saw every emotion possible<\/p>\n

Happiness, tears, anger, frustration<\/p>\n

It had its curves when it was at peak<\/p>\n

And when it was slow, it kept him puzzled:<\/p>\n

Why so rushed, where is the logic<\/p>\n

It is recruitment or<\/p>\n

Is it an animal fair?<\/p>\n

Brains can only come up with such a no-brainer concept<\/p>\n

Salute to the discoverer who must be an HR! The day ended and<\/p>\n

Five months later<\/strong><\/p>\n

It started with a one day orientation program in Mumbai<\/p>\n

Where he learnt about the business<\/p>\n

And how this is the best organization he can dream of<\/p>\n

HR came, sales came and came the pizzas<\/p>\n

Equipped with laptops, data cards and other details<\/p>\n

He was sent to Bangalore — Bangalore was beautiful<\/p>\n

And the organization’s campus was just superb<\/p>\n

23 acres, lush green, 50+ bird species, zero waste<\/p>\n

Lovable, adorable, soothing it was to his heart and soul<\/p>\n

A cubicle was made his den for the next two months<\/p>\n

And he met two bosses — North and South<\/p>\n

North was stern and ruling, and did not like him at all<\/p>\n

Because he was honest to put his opinion<\/p>\n

This according to North was not the corporate way<\/p>\n

To put things across the table<\/p>\n

He hated the openness and so said fake open-door policy<\/p>\n

He wondered about theory in practice and theory in use<\/p>\n

South was the boss to look for, a fatherly figure<\/p>\n

Lucky enough, South was his project guide<\/p>\n

South headed recruitment, and so he became a part of a wonderful team<\/p>\n

Called “The Recruiters”<\/p>\n

A fun loving, caring and energetic team.<\/p>\n

Looking for a quality project,<\/p>\n

He got a project on “quality of hire”<\/p>\n

An upcoming concept in HR analytics and strategic HR.<\/p>\n

A new concept, not explored much<\/p>\n

A challenge and an opportunity is what he saw<\/p>\n

To explore the concept, he read a lot<\/p>\n

He talked across organizations, across borders and across industries<\/p>\n

He made surveys, came up with a model<\/p>\n

Ran trial runs and did number crunching<\/p>\n

Suggested recommendations and made a final presentation<\/p>\n

Finally, awarded certificate of exemplary work<\/p>\n

Yes, he enjoyed the work, enjoyed the life<\/p>\n

He learnt from people around<\/p>\n

And learnt from South whose experience was like gold<\/p>\n

And he heard carefully to learn the tricks of the trade<\/p>\n

Apart from work, he was part of movie making, dance sessions, obvious parties and SPL<\/p>\n

Yes, he was sold for Rs. 1200 for this IPL based cricket game<\/p>\n

So less this time, but fun it was<\/p>\n

Fun, friends and future: he got all three F’s there<\/p>\n

Luckily enough, the ball which was juggled<\/p>\n

In the roulette of recruitment<\/p>\n

Landed into a safe place<\/p>\n

Smile, smile and smile<\/p>\n

And it will be 4 AM when it will all start again.<\/p>\n

Good luck, bad luck this time, who knows? –<\/p>\n

Note — He got a stipend of Rs. 1L per month for two months and he weighed 70 kg. Hence approx. Rs. 2860 per kg.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
