\"\"<\/a>About the college<\/strong>: – Indian Institute of Management \u2013 Rohtak,\u00a0 is one of the premier management institute\u2019s of India. With its establishment in 2010, the college has shown immense development in its training, infrastructure and placements. With 48 students in its first batch and 123 in its second, IIM Rohtak is beginning to make a mark on the lines of its predecessor IIM\u2019s.<\/p>\n

About internships<\/strong>: – IIM Rohtak students have to take up an 8 – 10 week internship after the completion of their first year. The college invites companies to recruit interns and facilitates a very smooth interaction between the two. A focused Placement Committee and enthusiastic students are the two primary reasons that IIM Rohtak attracts participation from diverse industries for its internship placements.<\/p>\n

Top recruiting organizations<\/strong>: – Major recruiters for Summer Internship at IIM Rohtak are TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Power, RBI, Ernst and Young, Rediff, ICICI Bank, Coca Cola, Berger Paints, Motorola, Pitney Bowes, Yes Bank, Voltas, TVS Motors, Airport Authority of India, Reliance Communications, Seimens, Titan, Bank of Baroda, NewGen, SBI Mutual Funds, IBM, and many more.<\/p>\n

<\/em>The most unique internship<\/strong>: – Pavan Kumar PVS had a unique opportunity to intern with Jaipur Rugs which is a social entrepreneurial venture. Here\u2019s what he has to say about his experience \u2013<\/p>\n

I interned with Jaipur Rugs Company, a social entrepreneurial venture which has a vision to provide sustainable livelihood to its artisans through a unique business model – connecting the buyer to the weaver. Jaipur Rugs transforms unskilled rural poor into empowered artisans by engaging them as producers of beautiful carpets that are sold in the urban global markets. The project assigned to me was unique in the sense that it provided me an opportunity to work with all the three aspects of the company\u2019s business model \u2013 Artisans, Management and the Customers. On a day of my internship, I visited a village named Narhet to understand the weaving processes and to interact with a few weavers and in the afternoon of the same day, the Director and I were with a team of US clients that booked a bulk order of carpets. In the two months of internship, I also had the opportunity to work with the other interns from Argentina, Romania, France, and South Africa.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Internship statistics<\/strong>: – All the 123 students from 7 different fields of study (Finance, Marketing, Operations, Information Technology, Consulting, General Management and Human Resources) were selected for internships in various domains of \u2013 corporate governance, social entrepreneurship, social media marketing, and international marketing. Maximum students interned in the Marketing and Sales domain which comprised 29%, followed by Finance which included 27% of the students.<\/p>\n

Internship culture<\/strong>: – The Student Placement Coordinator Pranit Upadhyay secured his internship with Ernst and Young in 2012 by winning the Samaj case study challenge organized by VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur in 2011. He says –<\/p>\n

The fact that we are the only IIM in the Delhi-NCR region played to our advantage and helped in reaching out to organizations of repute in a huge way. All recruiters had very good feedback for our students at the time of the placement process.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The internship placements\u00a0for 2012 at IIM Rohtak was a booming one indeed. Given the impressive internship record of IIM Rohtak within 2 years of being set up, one can expect it to reach newer heights in the coming years.<\/p>\n
