About the internship: –\u00a0<\/strong>The UNAKRT Internship Programme offers recent university graduates and postgraduate students an
\nopportunity to work in the unique environment of this hybrid tribunal in Cambodia. Interns will have the opportunity to enhance their practical experience and their theoretical knowledge within one of the following offices of the UNAKRT:<\/p>\n

1. The Offices of the International Judges of the Pre-Trial Chamber, the Trial Chamber or the Supreme Court Chamber;
\n2. The Office of the International Co-Prosecutors;
\n3. The Office of the International Co-Investigating Judges;
\n4. The Defense Support Section;
\n5. The Court Management Section;
\n6. The Public Affairs Section;
\n7. The Virtual Tribunal; and
\n8. The Office of the Deputy Director of Administration\/ Coordinator of UNAKRT<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –\u00a0<\/strong>Candidates will be selected in accordance with the following criteria:<\/p>\n

\nEssential requirements<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Be under 35 years of age;
\n\u2022 Have no more than 5 years of work experience;
\n\u2022 Be highly motivated with outstanding academic qualifications in a field of study pertinent to UNAKRT;
\n\u2022 Have obtained a degree from a recognized university or be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate
\nschool (second university degree or higher) at the time of application or during the internship; or
\n\u2022 Have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the
\ncompletion of a degree when studying in countries where higher education is not divided into
\nundergraduate and graduate stages;
\n\u2022 Working proficiency in English and \/or French.<\/p>\n

Preferable experience<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Study of international criminal law or Human Rights law;
\n\u2022 Excellent legal research skills;
\n\u2022 Experience working in a law office;
\n\u2022 Relevant course work in relation to the work of the section\/ office
\n\u2022 Excellent written and oral communication skills
\n\u2022 Proven ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervision;
\n\u2022 Ability to work in a high pressure environment.<\/p>\n

Duration: – <\/strong>3 months (April – 30th June, 2013)<\/p>\n
