All the Economics \/ Finance \/ Management \/ Law \/ IIT graduates \/ CA students \u2013 how about spending the summer where the buck for the entire country stops? An internship opportunity with Ministry of Finance<\/strong> \u2013 yup, you heard it right! :) Wouldn\u2019t it feel great if a few years down the line you could hold you head in pride and claim to have played a role in bringing tax reforms in the country? This is as real as it gets for all those who want to change things around!<\/p>\n

About Internship: – <\/strong>Department of Revenue, under Ministry of Finance, has mandate to carry out tax reforms in the country. The Department is actively pursuing the work related to the introduction of Goods and Services Tax in the country. The proposed Goods and Services tax is expected to subsume large number of Central taxes like Central Excise Duty, Service Tax, Counter Veiling duty etc. and the State Taxes and levies like VAT\/ Sales tax, Entry tax and Entertainment tax etc.<\/p>\n

In view of preparatory work associated with the introduction of Goods and Services Tax, a need for internship programme in the Department has been felt so that the officers of the Department particularly in the State Taxes Division are able to interact with young scholars with brilliant academic backgrounds from the reputed academic institutions. The programme is expected to enable the Department to critically analyze various aspects of the Goods and Services tax on the basis of refreshing ideas from the field of academics and simultaneously expected to help the interns to familiarize themselves with the process of development of this important tax reform at the national level.<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Economics\/ Finance\/Management<\/strong> students <\/strong>possessing first class graduate degree or pursuing post graduation or having high second class post graduation degree or pursuing research courses at National schools of Economics\/Central universities\/recognized institutions working in the area of public finance, economics management etc.<\/li>\n
  2. Students pursuing 5 years integrated course in law<\/strong> from National Law Schools at Bangalore, Bhopal, Hyderabad and Kolkata<\/li>\n
  3. Students pursuing undergraduate\/graduate courses in any of the IITs<\/strong> and<\/li>\n
  4. Students who have cleared PE II stage of CA course<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Location: – <\/strong>Delhi, India<\/p>\n

    Duration: – <\/strong>upto a maximum of 6 months<\/p>\n

    Stipend: – <\/strong>Rs. <\/strong>5,000 \/ month + a certificate would be issued at the end of the internship<\/p>\n

    Start date: – <\/strong>it\u2019s a rolling internship available throughout the year<\/p>\n

    Last date to apply: – <\/strong>At least 15 days prior to \u00a0the date from which students intend to join.<\/p>\n
