About IISER:<\/strong> – Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM) is dedicated to scientific research and science education of international standards. Traditionally, teaching has been segregated from research in undergraduate science curricula in our country. IISERs were established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to bridge this dichotomy. IISER-TVM started functioning in August 2008. The institute aims to provide high quality education in modern science, integrating it with outstanding research at the undergraduate level itself, and develop a spirit of research cutting across disciplines. The faculty are engaged in research in the frontier areas of basic sciences, with a high degree of autonomy and creativity.<\/p>\n

About the Internship: – <\/strong>IISER Thiruvananthapuram offers a two-month visiting students programme during summer 2013 to enable motivated students to work with IISER faculty in the fields of Maths,Biology,Chemistry and Physics.<\/p>\n

Who can Apply: – <\/strong>Bachelors and Masters students in science\/engineering with an inclination towards research in basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) are invited to apply for the programme. Preference will be given to 2nd year BSc, III year BE\/BTech and 1st year MSc\/MTech (or equivalent degree) students.<\/p>\n

Location: –\u00a0 <\/strong>Thiruvananthapuram<\/p>\n

Duration: – <\/strong>from 15 May to 25 July, 2013<\/p>\n

Stipend: –\u00a0<\/strong> Rs. 5000\/-per month + Accommodation\u00a0 and mess facilities will be provided at the same cost as that borne by the regular students.<\/p>\n
