The broad goals of the Centre are to promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics education from primary school to undergraduate college level, and encourage the growth of scientific literacy in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About the internship: &#8211; <\/strong>Summer Course in Experimental Physics is designed as an enrichment course and is based on \u201cExperimental Problem Solving\u201d approach for undergraduate students and teachers. During this course students will be mentored by a team of invited teachers and encouraged to carry out independent experimental work on a set of \u2018experimental problems\u2019 in Physics. The objectives of this course are<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Building up students&#8217; motivation towards experimental physics and familiarizing them with innovative experimental activities\/problems and demonstrations in physics.<\/li>\n<li>Developing an integrated view of theory and experiments.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening conceptual understanding, procedural understanding, experimental problem solving ability and experimental skills.<\/li>\n<li>Offering students an experience of working in a \u201cfree\u201d physics training laboratory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Who can Apply: &#8211;\u00a0 <\/strong>Second year undergraduate students of Physics (who will complete 2 years \/ 4 semesters by May 2013) [BSc \/ Integrated MS\/MSc (Physics)] with at least 55 % marks or equivalent grades in their Class X, Class XII and BSc \/ Integrated MS\/MSc (Physics) \u2013 first, second and third \u2013 year\/semester examination. Only those students who have chosen Physics as a major subject and would like to continue Physics as a major subject should apply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Location: &#8211; <\/strong>Mankhurd, Mumbai<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Duration: &#8211; <\/strong>May 20 &#8211; 31, 2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"JUSTIFY\"><strong>Stipend: &#8211; <\/strong>No registration fee will be charged from students or teachers.
