\"\"About Scilab : –<\/strong>\u00a0Scilab\u00a0is an open source scientific software package for numerical computations that provides a powerful open computing environment for engineering and scientific applications. Since 1994, Scilab has been distributed freely, along with the source code, via the Internet. It is currently used in educational and industrial environments around the world.<\/p>\n

Scilab is a major component of the FOSSEE (Free and Open source Software for Science and Engineering Education) project. The goal of this project is to enable the students and faculty of Science and Engineering colleges\/institutes\/universities across India to use open source software tools for all their computational needs, thereby improving the quality of instruction and learning.<\/p>\n

About the internship: – \u00a0<\/strong>The project will involve a teacher of the student (from the same college) who has taught the subject for at least one or two years. The teacher will guide the student through the project and will be responsible for the student’s submissions. The aim of the project is to\u00a0port worked out examples\u00a0from standard textbooks\u00a0using an open source\u00a0software system, such as\u00a0Scilab. Interns are required to code solved examples from selected books and upload the code to the interface.<\/p>\n

Who can apply: –\u00a0<\/b>Students of Science and Engineering colleges\/institutes\/universities across India\u00a0are invited to apply.<\/p>\n

Location: –<\/b>\u00a0In your own college.<\/p>\n

Duration: –<\/b>\u00a0 The time frame will be decided once the book is selected.<\/p>\n

Stipend: \u2013\u00a0<\/b>Rs. 10,000 for the student and Rs. 5,000 for the teacher.<\/p>\n
