The Internshala Career Scholarship for Girls is an annual award of INR 25,000\/-<\/strong> meant to help advance one girl’s career in her chosen field. Instituted in 2013, the inspiration for this scholarship lies in the sad coincidence that the Delhi rape victim\u2019s struggle for life ended on the same day that Internshala celebrates its anniversary (29th December). The scholarship is meant to recognize a girl who has fought against odds to pursue a career of her dreams in any field (Academics, Sports, Arts etc.).<\/p>\n

Who is eligible for the scholarship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Any girl (an Indian national) between the ages of 17 to 23 years (as of 31st December 2014), i.e. born between 1st January 1991 and 31st December 1997 with a career objective is eligible to apply.<\/p>\n

What is the scholarship amount?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The scholarship is a one time reward of INR 25,000\/- .<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is the purpose of this scholarship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The scholarship is meant to advance the girl\u2019s career in some way \u2013 be it allowance for pursuing an internship or undertaking a project in the chosen field, payment towards a specialized training program, special equipment, etc.<\/p>\n

What are the selection criteria?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your application will be evaluated on the following criteria:<\/p>\n

  1. An element of fighting against odds \u2013 these can be financial, societal, physical handicap or anything that might have put obstacles in your path.<\/li>\n
  2. An element of achievement \u2013 you must have done remarkably well in your chosen field, be it academics, sports, music or arts.<\/li>\n
  3. An element of purpose \u2013 the purpose for which you will use the scholarship amount.<\/li>\n
  4. An element of need – everything else being the same, the scholarship would be awarded to someone who is in greater financial need.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What is the application process?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The application process consists of three steps-<\/p>\n

    Online form –<\/strong><\/em> Submission of application.
    \nInterview –<\/strong><\/em> A short-list for an interview (in person or telephonic) would be announced and interviews would be conducted. You would be asked to furnish all necessary documents and proofs before the interview.
    \nReferee check –<\/strong><\/em> After the interview, your referee (provided in the form) would be contacted for verification, post which the final winner would be selected and announced.<\/p>\n

    How and when will the amount be paid?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Wherever possible, the amount will be paid directly towards the cause at the time of the need through the referee provided in the form.<\/p>\n

    When will the results be announced?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The short-list for interviews would be announced on 20th February 2015<\/strong>. After the interview, we hope to announce the final result by 31st\u00a0March 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    How many candidates would be shortlisted for interview?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    There is no lower or upper limit for the shortlist. We would shortlist as many deserving candidates as possible.<\/p>\n

    How would you verify the information provided by an applicant?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The shortlisted candidates would be required to furnish all necessary documents and proofs before the interview. After interview, the referee would be contacted for verification.<\/p>\n
