The test centre to go live starting 25 \u00a0August, 2014 at VIT University, Vellore<\/p>\n

New Delhi, 25 August 2014:<\/strong> Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the owner and administrator of the GMAT exam worldwide today announced the launch of their new initiative \u2018On Campus Test Centre\u2019. In order to provide a platform to undergraduate aspirants, the first maiden on campus test centre is slated to start today onwards at VIT University, Vellore.<\/p>\n

As a part of this initiative, GMAC is working towards simplifying the access for Undergrad students by allowing them to take the GMAT exam within the university campus itself. Given the surge of pre experienced Masters programs like Masters in Management, Accounting, Marketing, Finance and other programs like Harvard 2+2, ISB YLP, ISB Early Entry Option etc. which offer deferred admission, this makes it an ideal platform for undergraduate students to give the GMAT exam from the campus. With easy access and round the year availability, the \u2018On Campus Test Centre\u2019 will allow students to take the GMAT exam basis their preparation and schedule.<\/p>\n

M J Xavier, Executive Director, VIT University<\/strong> said \u201c VIT University is proud to associate with GMAC in setting up their test center in our campus. This will help students from this region who write GMAT examination for admission to MBA programs around the world. GMAT is also emerging as the most credible test for admission to top B Schools in India too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Bhardwaj, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC\u00ae)<\/strong>, said, \u201c We are delighted to launch our first \u2018On Campus Test Center\u2019 at the Vellore campus of VIT University. This initiative brings the GMAT closer to undergraduate students and enables them to take the exam on their campus at their convenience. It is the first step in our endeavor to enhance access to GMAT for undergraduate students and empower them to pursue management education at their preferred business school, in India and worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018On Campus Presence\u2019 or OCP is an extremely helpful initiative launched by GMAC\u00ae that will benefit the student community immensely by bringing the GMAT exam closer to them right at their doorstep. We hope to see pre-final year students for the Young Leader Program and final year students for the Early Entry Option offered by ISB, specially benefit from this initiative\u201d said Munish Sapra, Senior Director \u2013 Admissions & Financial Aid, Indian School of Business<\/strong><\/p>\n

The GMAT exam will now be more easily accessible to students studying at universities that are located in slightly remote regions away from the major cities and metros.
