After my undergraduate college when I started planning to acquire a Master\u2019s degree at USA, I had this eight to nine month gap between my applications and admits in my schedule planning. Thus sprouted the idea of doing an internship in my vella<\/em> time. Being a civil engineer, I have always seen myself being on a construction site and shouting at the top of my voice (or even being shouted at) to get the work done. My industrial training had given me some firsthand experience of that. But here I am, at Internshala, as an intern for editing and blogging.<\/p>\n

A civil engineer doing an internship at a start-up which has no connections to his field. Odd, isn\u2019t it? Well, let me elucidate. After being a part of organizing as well as the creative team of almost every event at my college, I was bitten by, what I call, an organizing-ka-keeda<\/em>. Brain-storming sessions, creative ideas, discussing their practicality, having civilized debates (with a lot of expletives), executing them and finally the success parties. I missed all this, a lot, after college. So when I stumbled upon this internship offer from Internshala, I just had to take it. Being part of the editorial board of college magazine and having experience in blogging, writing articles for online magazines, I was more than excited to be able to wield my creativity all over again for a start-up. On the top of that, I was about to be paid for it.<\/p>\n

As of right now, I am just a day old in this company and I am actually amazed. Let me tell you, the office of Internshala is a single room occupied by a bunch of cool people. I seriously had not imagined that a portal, this amazing, is managed from just a single room. I have a friend who had done an internship from here and I asked him how it was. He said and I quote him verbatim, \u201cwahan chill-type kaam hota hai\u2026bindaaaas<\/em>\u201d and that is what exactly this is turning out to be.<\/p>\n

To precisely answer the question of what I expect from this internship, I would say that I expect one hell of an experience from this place. I expect to grow as a writer and witness the nuances of management. Eventually, I will be heading off to do my Master\u2019s degree but, as sadistic as it may sound, I want to feel terrible when my internship is over.<\/p>\n

I look forward to contribute to Internshala to the best of my ability and be a valuable asset for it.<\/p>\n
