About SimPPL

SimPPL is a nonprofit research collective building cutting-edge responsible AI tools to advance information integrity. We want to make safe and reliable information accessible to populations across the world. Specifically, we work on media and digital literacy, build systems to combat mis and disinformation, and advocate for policy reform through our reports. We publish research papers actively at top computational social science, machine learning, trust and safety, business and management workshops and conferences like ICML, AAAI, NeurIPS, IC2S2, ICWSM, and others. Our work led primarily by undergrads is featured by Mozilla, Google, the Center for Tech and Society, Wikimedia, Prothom Alo, Rest of World, Deutsche Welle, and Axios. We work on applied projects in technology and policy, with the goal to support undergraduate and graduate students to pursue responsible computing and policy research, frequently through partnerships with global organizations.
