VSSUT officially announced its SIH 2026 SPOC on 31 July 2026 and invited interested departments\/students to coordinate the Internal Hackathon. Under SIH rules, students cannot directly enter the national competition; they must first qualify through their institution&#8217;s internal hackathon and be nominated by the university SPOC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-default\" style=\"background-color:#f0f0f0;color:#f0f0f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2139\ufe0f <strong>Event Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Host Institute: <\/strong>Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Odisha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Purpose: <\/strong>To shortlist VSSUT student teams for nomination to the national-level Smart India Hackathon 2026. Only teams qualifying through an internal hackathon can be registered for SIH 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Categories:<\/strong> Software and Hardware.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Internal Hackathon Mode: <\/strong>Not yet announced by VSSUT. SIH 2026 permits institutions to conduct\/report their internal hackathon as online or offline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Grand Finale Mode: <\/strong>Offline, at SIH nodal centres across India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registration Process:<\/strong> Students cannot register directly on the SIH portal. VSSUT&#8217;s SPOC will nominate teams after the internal selection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VSSUT SIH 2026 SPOC:<\/strong> Dr. Debasmita Mishra, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Faculty and Planning, VSSUT Burla.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-default\" style=\"background-color:#f0f0f0;color:#f0f0f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcc5 <strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VSSUT SIH 2026 announcement:<\/strong> 31 July 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National SIH team nomination &amp; idea submission deadline:<\/strong> 15 September 2026,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-default\" style=\"background-color:#f0f0f0;color:#f0f0f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfaf <strong>Eligibility &amp; Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eligibilty:<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must be enrolled at VSSUT; SIH participation is for students pursuing regular programmes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team Size: Exactly 6 students, including the team leader.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Female Member: At least one female student is mandatory in every team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Same Institute Rule: All six members must belong to the same institution; inter-college teams are not allowed.
