About the internship

As an automation engineering intern, you will work alongside our development and operations teams to help automate various tasks in our POS and inventory management systems. You'll be involved in automating workflows, integrating systems, and ensuring that the POS and inventory management systems are efficient, accurate, and scalable.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Automation of POS systems: Assist in automating processes within our web-based POS applications to reduce manual work and improve system performance.
2. Inventory management automation: Work on automating inventory tracking, stock updates, and reporting, ensuring real-time accuracy across all platforms (web, mobile, and in-store).
3. Testing automation with Selenium: Use Selenium to write automated test scripts for both POS and inventory management applications. Help ensure the systems are stable and bug-free by automating functional and regression tests.
4. API integrations: Assist in integrating third-party tools, such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and accounting software, into the POS and inventory management systems.
5. Data analytics & reporting: Automate reporting tasks for inventory, sales, and financial insights to ensure accurate and up-to-date business intelligence.
6. Troubleshooting and debugging: Help identify and troubleshoot automation issues, ensuring smooth workflows and continuous improvements.
7. Collaboration: Work with the development team to help identify areas for process improvements and assist in implementing automation solutions.
8. Documentation: Document automation workflows, testing processes, and best practices for team members.

Requirement:
1. Basic experience with Selenium for automating browser-based applications and performing testing.
2. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java for writing automation scripts.
3. Familiarity with API integration and working with RESTful APIs.
4. Understanding of SQL or other database systems for managing and querying data.
5. Familiarity with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git).
6. Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Appium) for automating web and mobile applications.
7. Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
8. Basic Knowledge of POS and Inventory Management: Understanding how POS systems and inventory management work in a business setting (e.g., TradeGecko, Odoo, Shopify, Lightspeed).
9. Problem solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the willingness to learn and apply new skills quickly.
10. Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document technical solutions.
11. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (a plus).
12. Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) is a bonus.
13. Previous experience with test automation tools such as Jest, Mocha, or Postman (optional but helpful).
14. Educational background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.
