Work with the Validation team and Vehicle Engineering team to model and Test battery of EV.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Test Li-ion battery cells, development of test procedure, analysis of failure, and support for lab process control
2. Execute creation of Li-ion battery test procedure, characterization of battery performance under various test conditions, support lead engineers for manual process in the lab, and set up the new equipment with trouble-shooting
3. Utilize working knowledge of cathode, anode, electrolyte, and separator materials, as well as how these components work together to make a successful cell from the process
4. Test and analyze techniques used to characterize battery devices and materials
5. Operate lab equipment such as commercial test systems and environmental chambers
6. Develop and document work instructions for process procedures and equipment maintenance
7. Support the implementation of environmental and safety best practices
8. Utilize VBA MS Excel graphs and table templates for interpretation of data

1. Working knowledge of lithium-ion battery operation and performance including charging, discharging, safety, impedance, aging, cycle life, temperature effects, sustainability, failure modes, handling, assembly methods and associated equipment
2. Working knowledge of battery standards and testing methods found in documents published by USABC, SAE, IEC, GBT, etc.
