About part time job/internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Perform a user needs analysis to identify the types of point of care diagnostic devices that need to be integrated
2. Review existing point of care diagnostic products for telemedicine in the market
3. Reach out to vendors to understand the product and options for integration
4. Develop a plan for device integration using industry standards (Bluetooth, DICOM, IEEE 11073)
5. Test device integrations

What would you learn in this internship?

This internship requires the candidate to apply theoretical concepts learned in biomedical instrumentation to a real-world project. He/she will learn about various industry standards as well as get to interact with several device manufacturers and OEMs to understand the landscape of point-of-care diagnostics. He/she will learn how to do a cost-per-use analysis. He/she will also learn about industry medical device communication standards and how devices are integrated into software EHR systems.
