About part time job/internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Identify trees and wood samples
2. Extend the wood collection box. As of now 52 species we have approximately 400 species in Jardin de Mere and 1000 in Auroville
3. Identify sound-wood or the woods useful for musical instruments
4. Assess trial plot (Rosewood, Vengai, Kalimardu Red Sanders established in 2002
5. Work on silviculture or pruning to create the desired shape
6. Handle genetic improvement by selecting outstanding mother trees as the seed source
7. Propagate from the seed of the rare and threatened species
8. Assess the rate of growth of timber trees and shape
9. Study on five species of Rosewood and five species of Ebony (determine the rate of growth or if will there be a hybrid?)
10. Study two genuine American Mahogani species as of Spanish Cedar from South America as replacement of Indian Red Cedar
11. Study lesser-known timbers like Bead tree, Mulluallamaram, Naval, Cassia Siamia, etc
