Classes occur on Saturday & Sunday. We will provide the necessary training needed to get equipped to conduct the classes, but minimal knowledge of the subjects beforehand is required.
The following will be the responsibilities:
1. Encourage students to learn the game of chess and improve their chess playing skills
2. Conducting chess classes for kids on Saturday & Sunday and weekday evenings (Monday is a holiday)
3. Conducting coding classes for children (is the platform we will use)
4. Plan and coordinate all team practices and competitions
5. Encourage activities in support of the academy
Knowledge skills and ability required:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Knowledge of the rules and game of chess
2. Previous experience as a coach or participant on a chess team preferred
3. Minimal coding knowledge (visual programming)
4. High school diploma or above
5. Excellent organizational ability
6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and community members
7. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Only those candidates can apply who:
1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
2. can start the internship between 15th Aug'17 and 14th Sep'17
3. are available for duration of 6 months
4. have relevant skills and interests
