Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
2. Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performing applications
3. Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
4. Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions
5. Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
6. Test and debug programs
7. Improve functionality of existing systems
8. Implement security and data protection solutions
9. Assess and prioritize feature requests
