Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop embedded firmware for traction motor drives and other power electronics applications.
2. Select MCUs/DSP/DSC and program embedded processors (TI/Microchip/Renesas/ST) using C language to make use of ADC/DAC/PWM/GPIO modules, communication protocols & embedded standards (SPI, I2C, UART, USB).
3. Design and implement protection algorithms, system diagnostics/prognostics.
4. Test the firmware on the development boards through digital communication, debugger, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer in a lab environment.
5. Collaborate with the hardware team for prototype development and testing.
6. Design of electronic circuits using opamps, TL431, transistors, etc.
7. PCB design and schematics drawing on KiCAD or Altium or similar.
Desirable must-haves-
1. Experience with Eclipse, Code composer studio, MP Lab, STM32cubeide, Keil, IAR embedded workbench.
2. Work experience with interrupts, Polling mechanisms, Timers, and watchdog timers.
3. Knowledge of basic motor control algorithms, PID, Feedback control, etc.
4. Expertise in C/C++ programming ( Unions, Structures, loops, pointers, classes, etc.).
5. Knowledge of RTOS and operating system.
