As a Junior designer/Assistant fashion designer, your job role will include being responsible for: researching fashion trends, assisting with designing fashion ranges, and sourcing fabric and trims, whether this is for womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, fashion accessories, footwear, or lingerie.
A Junior designer/assistant fashion designer will also be capable of using Photoshop and Illustrator coupled with hand drawing skills.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Work with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief
2. Adapt existing designs for mass production
3. Develop a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervise the creation of these, including fitting, detailing, and adaptations
4. Work with models to try out your designs and also to wear them on the catwalk at fashion shows
