Under the Biological Diversity Act (2002), every local body, Panchayat, Block Samitis, Zila Parishad, and Municipal Corporation has to constitute Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs). The main function of the BMC is to prepare the People s Biodiversity Register (PBR), to document the flora, fauna, and the traditional knowledge about the bio-resources. In this regard, we are looking for highly motivated and self-driven candidates to work on the project 'Preparation of People s Biodiversity Registers' in Haryana.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating different project activities related to documentation of local biodiversity and traditional knowledge, with the field volunteers, members of the Biodiversity management committee, line-departments, and other stakeholders of the villages and blocks of selected districts of Haryana.
