About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Survey the pre-selected cities for their general profile and sanitation services
2. Collect primary and secondary data for the cities
3. Create the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database including reference datasets and layers to reflect key information from the surveys
4. Produce printable maps reflecting the different layers of information
5. Compile the collected information in form of a case study which may be used by WASH Institute for its training programs

About WASH Institute

WASH Institute is dedicated to providing and strengthening the capacity and skills of the professionals involved in the sector across India through intensive training. Apart from the capacity-building initiatives for the professionals already associated with the sector, the organization has also given prime importance to grooming students for achieving sustainable water and sanitation solution.

In addition to the skill and capacity-building initiatives, WASH Institute provides technical assistance to the Government of India for implementing the 'Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin)'. The organization has been recognized as a national key resource center (KRC) by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS), Government of India. The institute is a part of various networks and advisory committees on WASH and houses the Secretariat of the National Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (NFSSM) Alliance.
