Citizengage is a technology company operating the world's first end-to-end platform to channel waste into energy, compost, and recycled products by minimizing landfill use, managing behaviour at source and across the waste-to-resource supply chain, and running transfer operations in real-time. Here is a video that explains how our network works and we were just inducted into Tech30 this year. Here is some press coverage that might interest you: Better India, Economic Times, India Investment Journal
Our customers are the largest urban waste producers like commercial establishments and apartment complexes who pay us to partner with processing sites and collectors to ensure their waste is managed properly, with minimal landfill use. We build internal systems for our customers to ensure segregation is maintained across all transfers, manage our Uber-like operations in real-time, and verify that waste gets converted into a resource by feeding biogas plants, composting facilities, and recycling centres.
Over the past three months, the Network channeled 700 tons of waste to clean energy, compost, and recycled products instead of landfills, thereby eradicating over 52 tons of CO2 emissions. Despite tenant turnover, over 95% of households in any of our communities are segregating waste at source and over 86% of our customers' waste has verified landfill diversion, which is already exceeding the theoretical 85% potential recyclability of Indian municipal solid waste. We are now working with the municipality, local politicians, businesses, residents, and collectors to implement the world's first verified waste-to-resource network in Bangalore's largest and wealthiest zone. This project includes installing 3 biomethanation plants that would almost double the city's current capacity to convert organic waste into energy. In addition, we are working with the largest regiment of the Indian Army stationed in Bangalore to provide a model for all cantonments to follow across the country.
