IIHS is now accepting applications from Indian and International Masters (including recent Masters) and Ph.D. students for internships at IIHS for periods between 2 and 6 months, from May to December 2014.

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) is a national education institution committed to the equitable, sustainable and efficient transformation of Indian settlements.
About the Internship:

IIHS Internships aim to equip students to learn more about practice and research in their chosen fields, as well as immerse themselves in a unique interdisciplinary and innovative environment. Internships at IIHS straddle diverse disciplines such as technology, management, planning, public policy, law, environmental services, media study, economics and the social sciences.

Who can apply:
Only those candidates can apply who:
  1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
  2. are available for duration of 0 month (preferred, not mandatory)
  3. are pursuing any degree but have relevant skills and interest
  4. are currently in any year of study or are recent graduates
Other requirements:
  1. IIHS is looking for interns who are committed to excellence, learning, and are willing to work both independently and, as part of interdisciplinary teams. Previous professional work experience and academic coursework in the chosen field for at least two continuous months is desirable but is not necessary
  2. Proficiency in written and oral English, willingness to take on variety of tasks as needed, ability to meet deadlines, along with, good interpersonal skills will help ensure a successful internship.

Please Note: The application process will be conducted in two cycles – in February and March 2014. 



  • Cycle 1: March to September 2014, Application Deadline: February 28, 2014



  • Cycle 2: June to December 2014, Application Deadline: March 14, 2014
