Internships provide an opportunity for exceptionally well-qualified undergraduate and graduate students to take part in research projects at the MPI for Software Systems.
About Max Planck Institute For Software Systems
The Max Planck Institute for Software Systems conducts high-risk, high-impact research in all areas related to the design, analysis, modeling, implementation, and evaluation of complex software systems. It is one of eighty institutes run by the Max Planck Society, which is world-renowned for its basic research in medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, technology and the humanities.
About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with an MPI-SWS research group and being mentored by at least one faculty member. Interns conduct academic research jointly with their mentor or a team of faculty, doctoral students and postdocs.

Our internships are usually 12 to 14 weeks long. Longer internships are possible in some cases. We welcome interns round the year, but most of our interns prefer the summer months (May-August). Selected applicants receive monthly stipends during their stay. They are provided free housing by the institute and are reimbursed for their travel expenses to the institute.
