Association for Effective Governance is starting an internship program for Odisha's parliamentarians where selected candidates get to work and assist their members of the Indian Parliament in their legislative duties in the budget session of March 2020.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Drafting parliamentary questions for the MP, preparing briefs for the bills, speeches, drafting private member bills, etc.
2. Assisting with a broad set of activities that support policy advancement at the national and state level, such as legislative research, legislative briefings, advocacy material and drafting policy briefs
3. Completing research tasks as assigned, such as conducting literature reviews and background research; finding, organizing, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; and preparing questions, briefs, memos, reports, and presentations
Odiya speaking students will be preferred.
Only those candidates can apply who:
1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
2. can start the internship between 3rd Feb'20 and 4th Mar'20
3. are available for duration of 1 month
4. have relevant skills and interests
The objective of the organization is to create a holistic support system for Members of Parliament. The support system will help their office with research, planning, and analysis to nurture better policies and assisting the intended beneficiaries so they can avail the benefits from the same. We want to enable the MP office to work smarter and effective by having a young and a structured team working for them.
