Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM) is the design and manufacturing face of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc); it is the most research-intensive design and manufacturing school in India. The vision of CPDM is to pursue excellence in education, research, and practice in the areas of design and manufacturing so as to support the development of systemically-complex, technologically-intensive, and socially-impactful solutions that are functional, aesthetic, usable, and sustainable, with the focus on developing working hardware prototypes. CPDM trains by immersion into user habitat to identify needs, exploration of new technologies to develop breakthrough product ideas, and detail these into products that are manufactured and tested to satisfy technical, aesthetic, ergonomic, and other needs.
1. Perform theoretical mechanical design calculations
2. Model, modify and simulate kinematic components
3. Work on FEM/FEA simulations of the said kinematic chain
4. Prepare testing reports
5. Prototype the said kinematic components using additive manufacturing
6. Meet task schedules
