About part time job/internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Visit Akshaya Patra's food manufacturing plant locations
2. Implement continual improvement projects whilst handling process mapping & automation projects
3. Utilize various process improvement tools - TPM (total productivity management), Lean Six Sigma, CIP (continual improvement) PDCA (plan-do-check-act), and Lean Kaizen methodologies for variance optimization
4. Ensure deployment of common solutions across divisions and businesses

Note:

1. We are looking for interns to work with our 'Continual Improvement' team (Akshaya Patra) at the plant locations of Akshaya Patra
2. Stipend: 10,000/- per month (including travel, food, and accommodation)

Added requirements

1. Candidates who have done their BE in mechanical engineering/manufacturing/food technology (or engineering graduates in quality and process excellence) and MBA (operations) from an accredited university can apply

2. Must have a bachelor's degree (preferably quality/manufacturing/food technology) from an accredited university (along with an MBA in operations)

3. Must be willing to travel across India for process excellence activities

4. Ability to work as per shifts

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Bengaluru, India. Our organization strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the mid-day meal scheme in government and government-aided schools. Alongside, Akshaya Patra also aims at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children. Our partnership with the Government of India and various state governments, along with the persistent support from corporates, individual donors, and well-wishers have helped us to grow from serving just 1,500 children in 5 schools in the year 2000 to serving 1.7 million children now. Today, Akshaya Patra is the world's largest (not-for-profit-run) mid-day meal program serving wholesome food to over 1.7 million children from 14,314 schools every school day, across 12 states in India.
