About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Creating worksheets, games, and classroom sessions on topics provided by educators
2. Designing curriculum and suggesting changes to improve the current curriculum (with research evidence)
3. Drafting monitoring and evaluation tools that can be used by educators
4. Working on classroom observation: what worked in the classroom, suggest alternative methods, etc.
5. Conducting sessions with set objectives under the supervision of an educator
6. Making a script for video modeling and develop simple videos to be used for social skills and personal hygiene and grooming

The intern would be shadowing a special educator.

About Ishanya India Foundation

Ishanya India Foundation is a centre for individuals with special needs started by Mrs. Swathi Vellal Raghunandan in 2015, with the intent to make the society more inclusive. We cater to the needs of individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, Asperger's syndrome, learning disability, down syndrome, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, etc.

We work with varied age groups & believe in the holistic development of an individual and we also aim to train these individuals for employment and independent living. We offer various programs like after school remedial, functional academics, NIOS coaching, digital literacy, skill development, vocational training, awareness programs, sensitization workshops, sheltered employment, and promote parent support groups.
