About part time job/internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Work with the teams in UC Berkeley and Tamil Nadu to test educational materials and teacher training materials at our partner schools in Chennai, and conduct needs assessment surveys
2. Observe teacher and teacher-trainers who implement the curriculum and regularly monitor progress
3. Critically analyze the performance of the materials and report to Dr. Levine and his Chennai team
4. Improve the curriculum, teacher training, and monitoring procedures through real-time observation and the feedback mechanism
5. Bring innovative ideas to the table like how to make learning into fun

About Hygiene Heroes

Professor David Levine at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley is heading an education project in India, working out of Chennai. Over the past 2 years, his team of 35 artists, story writers, musicians, and programmers at UC Berkeley, IIT Madras, and elsewhere have been building a fun hygiene education curriculum for large schooling networks in India (http://hygieneheroes.berkeley.edu/). The project is currently in its third phase of pilot testing. Professor Levine is working towards large-scale launch and dissemination through SSA, which runs all government schools in Tamil Nadu.
