About Civilian Welfare Foundation
The Civilian Welfare Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded by a group of like-minded enthusiasts. CWF began its operations in May 2011 and officially registered on December 29, 2011. The primary focus of our organization is to address various social issues, including disability rights, LGBTIQ rights, healthcare and sports, child rights, and promoting an inclusive approach towards equity and equality. Over the past five years, we have undertaken significant projects such as promoting Paralympics and organizing Paralympic sports events at various levels, conducting research on disability issues, and improving access to education (RTE Act) for children and child laborers in Peyarabagan, the second largest slum in Kolkata. Our most recent endeavor is the establishment of a healthcare unit in Bolpur, Birbhum district of West Bengal, named 'CWF Labs: Transdisciplinary healthcare and research'.
