BBA was founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Shri Kailash Satyarthi in the year 1980, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) is a pioneering child rights campaign in India, for the protection of children from exploitation and abuse. BBA works with multifaceted strategies of prevention, protection, prosecution, participation, and promotion and implements these strategies through activities like campaigns, child-friendly villages, victim assistance, women empowerment, and rehabilitation centers - Mukti Ashram and Bal Ashram. BBA is working across India with offices in Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meerut, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Since its inception, BBA has rescued over 85,700 victims of bonded/child labor and has mainstreamed 2,00,000 children in school.
