The Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi launched an innovative concept of a network of Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics (AAMCs) in Delhi. These clinics serve as the first point of contact for the population and offer timely services. The free health services offered by the Mohalla Clinics help to reduce the financial burden on low-income households by saving travel costs and lost wages and reduce a load of referrals to secondary and tertiary health facilities in the state.
Jan Swasthya Samitis (JSS) are the administrative and coordinating bodies responsible for the smooth and responsible functioning of the Mohalla Clinics. They ensure community-based monitoring of the AAMCs. We require interns to ensure smooth functioning of the AAMCs through the JSS, focusing on the policy and administration aspects of their composition, training, and functions. The volunteers will get a certificate from the Government of Delhi on their participation.
