PROGRIDS is seeking to fill a software engineer role who will lead software development work on emerging technologies in the smart grid including clean energy, smart grid, and DER (distributed energy resource).
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include applying his/her technical expertise to develop code, reference implementations, and simulators for emerging testbed and virtual environments. Chance to work on state-of-the-art research projects while working with teams primarily located overseas.
Education: MS or MTech or Ph.D. candidates with a completed or ongoing degree in electrical, and/or computer science engineering, or a related technical field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Experience in software development and testing will be preferred
2. Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C#, Python, C) and Linux operating system
3. Candidate must carry technical expertise and must assume responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives using creative imaginative solutions
4. Incumbents must be able to exercise judgment, diligence, and attention to detail and demonstrate an aptitude for carrying out responsible technical assignments
5. Good verbal and written communication skills
6. Communicate highly complex ideas with credibility, confidence, and clarity
7. Manages projects and may work in conjunction with a technical specialist
8. Typically, individual contributor may begin handling supervisory activities
