The Cardiff gravitational physics group invites applications from motivated undergraduate students for Summer Internship Research Positions.

About Cardiff University - School Of Physics And Astronomy (http://www.astro.cf.ac.uk/):
Cardiff School of Physics and Astronomy is part of Cardiff University and is based at the Queen's Buildings on The Parade, Cardiff, close to the city centre. The School offers a variety of undergraduate (BSc, MPhys) and postgraduate (PhD, MPhil, MSc) degrees and currently has a total of 350 undergraduate students and 57 postgraduate students undertaking degrees in the subjects of Physics and Astronomy.
About the Internship:

Possible research topics include modeling binary black hole orbits and their gravitational wave emission, strong field tests of gravity, and the development of techniques for detecting gravitational waves from supernovae or from the inspiral of neutron-star and black-hole binaries.

Who can apply:
Only those candidates can apply who:
  1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
  2. are available for duration of 4 weeks (preferred, not mandatory)
  3. are pursuing any degree but have relevant skills and interest
  4. are currently in any year of study or are recent graduates
Other requirements:
  1. Applications are open to all undergraduates worldwide now completing their second, third, or fourth year of study.
