Supply Chain Management (SCM) Internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Planning and implementing supply chain optimization projects and work on existing projects in the company
2. Developing requirements and standards (e.g. packaging, procurement, delivery) and driving continuous improvement using lean six sigma
3. Overseeing inventory procedures and forecasting future requirements for suppliers
4. Evaluating vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards
5. Improving interfaces between teams
6. Monitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception to final delivery
7. Optimizing transportation shipments for customers while balancing service and cost using a transportation management system
8. Communicating effectively with customers, carriers, and teammates (phone and email communication)
9. Analyzing and recommending broad-based innovative improvement initiatives for accounts with a focus on eliminating root causes of recurring issues which leads to driving down costs and/or improving service
10. Assisting with forecasting, inventory planning, scheduling, purchasing, and new product development
11. Working on project management services for process improvement and technology solutions

1
