About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Help students prepare for JEE by clearing their doubts and improving their skills while attempting exams
2. Set-up an exam culture and teach the topics which the class has difficulty to understand
3. Understand each student s academic background and current progress
4. Chalk out a personalized academic plan for each fellow with the center incharge
5. Conduct one-on-one academic sessions with each student to provide customized support
6. Conduct group doubt solving and concept building academic sessions
7. Conduct, evaluate and analyze customized chapter tests for each fellow as necessary
8. Realign interest towards basic Sciences and Mathematics (wherever possible) through experiments, talks, and documentaries

About Avanti Fellows

Website

Avanti was established in 2010 to help improve college access for disadvantaged students. Our programs focus on improving math and science learning in government school systems across India. Avanti has long-standing MoUs with the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (JNV) and Government of Haryana through which we work with over 48,000 students.

Our work is supported by India's most reputed foundations and CSR initiatives including Tata Trusts, Tata Motors, MSDF, Volkswagen and Infosys Foundation. Avanti Fellows is a Pan-IIT Alumni India initiative, winner of the Stanford BASES Social E-Challenge 2010 and recipient of the Echoing Green and DRK Fellowships 2012.

We are currently running classroom programs in 17 JNV, 219 Government school of Haryana and 19 Government schools in Jharkhand. These program through a peer-learning pedagogy helps students to understand maths and science and further prepare them for engineering and medical competitive exams (IIT-JEE/NEET).
