About Calcutta Social Project

From the humble beginnings in 1969 as a Red Cross milk-distribution scheme for the slum dwellers of South Calcutta, Calcutta Social Project has come a long way to being an integrated, multifaceted social service with 16 programs cover over 1000 women and children in Calcutta.

Calcutta Social Project works to unleash the true potential of underprivileged slum women and children through human development services focussed on education, shelter, and nutrition.

Our vision is to foster employability of unskilled slum youths who have been educational dropouts or low academic achievers, by training them in vocational skills and helping them work towards transformational income alternatives.
